How is coaching different from therapy?
Therapy often centers around a diagnosis and focuses on processing and understanding the client’s past. While coaching at times reflects on the past to understand the present, coaching focuses on processing present challenges, emotions, and situations. By navigating the present effectively, the client has the opportunity to create their desired future.
Why should I choose you as a coach?
I’m Vegan.
I know what it’s like to be vegan and to experience hopelessness, helplessness, and rage about the systematic exploitation, torture, and killing of non-human animals. I know what it’s like to desperately want to create impact for animals but in a sustainable way that works for you. Through my own work as a Coach and coaching client, I have learned how to listen to and to accept myself and my true nature. Instead of regularly experiencing despair, worthlessness, pessimism, anger, and blame, I have opened my life up to consistent joy, connection, freedom, peace, curiosity, and love.
Speaking of emotions–in our coaching work together, we will not shy away from your emotions, whether they be “positive,” “negative,” or a wild mixed bag. But, I won’t let you get stuck in negativity and suffering. We will explore your emotions as they are present and process them as necessary to help you progress on your journey.
I am a keen and curious listener.
I’m extremely empathetic, but I am also very real and funny. I will hear you and see you, but I will also challenge your beliefs and stories if they don’t serve you. I see the world differently from most people, even from most vegans. Even though coaching is serious and important business, it doesn’t mean we can’t laugh and even enjoy much of the process.
As a coach and a human being, I bring both intensity and groundedness. I am curious and playful, and I relish my role as a coach.
Coaching is about YOU.
Our work is extremely individualized. You are the driver of our sessions. I don’t have an agenda other than to support you in navigating the life you are currently experiencing and to help facilitate the transformation you seek. Therefore, our work is not about me telling you what to do. Instead, I will create space for you to access your own wisdom and guide you through practices that will cultivate change. These practices will be yours to guide you for the rest of your life.
After working together for 6 months, you will possess:
- Deepened connection to your personal power and truth
- Clarity of and alignment with what’s most important to you
- Heightened access to your intuition and own body’s wisdom
- Increased emotional awareness & fluency, including greater freedom, joy, and resilience
- Strengthened boundaries
- Understanding of your personal story and how it has influenced you
- Awareness of the voices of self-sabotage and strategies to disarm them
- Cultivation of personal agency and responsibility to create your desired life
- Re (Connection) to your unique gifts and Authentic Self
How do you know that coaching “works?”
Thanks to the support of Coaches and Mentors, I have traveled the path of transformation myself. I have invested time, money, and energy and have changed and brightened my life! As a lifelong learner, I continue to progress and evolve on this exciting, challenging, and compassion-filled journey.
How should I choose a coach?
I recommend choosing a well-trained coach who is certified and/or has completed substantial apprenticeship programs. It’s important to have a short meeting to see what it would be like to work together and if you “click.” You might consider: Does this individual have similar values and a tone and approach that resonates with me?
The most effective and authentic coaches receive coaching themselves, continuing their learning and growth through personal and professional training and mentorship programs.
